The handles of certain Total Gym® 1000 and Total Gym® Pro model exercisers can unexpectedly detach from the cable during use and/or the cable itself can break during use causing potential injury to the user during certain recommended exercises.

Fitness Quest is offering free replacement of the affected handle and cable assemblies for Total Gym® 1000 and Total Gym® PRO exercisers with serial numbers DK00001 through DK129350 and all units with an XO or SM prefix. The serial numbers are located on a sticker placed on the underside of the machine's glide board. If your unit does not have a sticker, please contact Fitness Quest, as Fitness Quest is also offering the free replacement handle and cable assemblies for these units.

If you have one of these Total Gym® 1000 and/or Total Gym® Pro exercise machines, stop using it immediately and contact Fitness Quest to order a free handle and cable assembly. The replacement handle and cable assembly may be ordered online by clicking here or by contacting Fitness Quest's customer service at 1-800-321-9236 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time Monday through Friday.

Please note that this recall does not cover the Total Gym units that were sold through television infomercials. If you purchased your Total Gym from an infomercial, your machine is not part of this recall and you do not need the replacement handle and cable assembly.
This recall does not effect commercial models (1100,11000,2400 and 24000) which are distributed by EFI Total Gym. Models utilized in rehab centers are not in any way part of this recall action.
